A Waltz for a Night

Let me sing you a waltz
Out of nowhere, out of my thoughts
Let me sing you a waltz
About this one night stand

You were for me that night
Everything I always dreamt of in life
But now you're gone
You are far gone
All the way to your island of rain

It was for you just a one night thing
But you were much more to me
Just so you know

I don't care what they say
I know what you meant for me that day
I just wanted another try
I just wanted another night

Even if it doesn't seem quite right
You meant for me much more
Than anyone I've met before

One single night with you little... Jesse
Is worth a thousand with anybody

I have no bitterness, my sweet
I'll never forget this one night thing
Even tomorrow, in other arms
My heart will stay yours until I die

Let me sing you a waltz
Out of nowhere, out of my blues

Let me sing you a waltz
About this lovely one night stand

60 years of independence

Yes, it 60 years of Indian independence and wish you all a very Happy Independence day. Yes, you might be thinking what's this??? It's been 4 days since this day and this fellow is wishing so late..So my sincere apologies. But its better to be late than never.
It also has been an eon I haven't pen down about my happenings, or my thoughts or whatever stuff this blog is generally supposed to have....Human is full of reasons and I don't want to end up giving reasons, rather I'd write what we did on this day. One thing is true, we didn't attended any flag hoisting on this auspicious day...and hence don't go on the title of this blog too...Its just to wish you all and for me a way to remember what we did.....

The only thing that we guys (myself, Kishor, Sunil, Nilesh, Raghu, Shirish) did was have a get together at the only good place in Bangalore i.e Forum. Myself, Kishor and Sunil were in traditional wears. Sunil as usual very cautious about his appearance (these days he's little more cautious, for reasons better ask him) as he felt very awkward in those traditional wears. He must have asked 100 times whether is it looking good...i am feeling very different, and what not...The thing I liked is his smile after he use to say "aey shuchya kasa tarich watay be..hehehehe"...But there's one thing although...Despite this little awkwardness he was ready to give solo photo poses...and after he saw the photographs on the computer he was kind of satisfied that he was looking great....And he himself found out the reason why the girls in the mall were giving him dhakka(could not find a appropriate word here in english).

Kishor the another fellow always dying for solo photos got his fantastic goggle and posed in the traditional wears...Sunil declared that this guy was not with him. So it all began with eating in McDonald and then window shopping while we were waiting for Nilesh and raghu....These guys joined us 2 hrs later along with Shirish which was a surprise... We all three have met almost after an year or so...We had a nice time together and took a nice portrait sketch in the FORUM....Then we had pizzas as our dinner and returned home...Thats it....No no no wait....Forgot to mention whom all did I personally missed on this occasion...they were all my friends who always used to be a part of such get together in Bangalore....Amya, Sam, gullu, Pankya, Nag, Viky, balya....

TIME FOR YOU by Ron White

Instead of forwarding it to everyone thought of having it on the blog....

He was completely infatuated with her. It was all that he could think and talk about. Yet, every time that he asked her on a date it was the same reply. She told him that she would love to go out with him, however, her schedule of work, school and other commitments was just too hectic and it wasn't possible.

In his frustration, he came to me and asked me for advice. He wanted to know how he could creatively help her with some of her responsibilities and free up some commitments so that they could spend time together. When he made this suggestion to me, I sighed deeply and bit my lip. I was searching for a tactful way to break the news to him, yet, I have never reached tremendous success in my efforts to be tactful so I just let him have it.

'Man, when she tells you that she doesn't have time. She has time – what she means is that she doesn't have time for YOU. I suggest that you dress in black for a week and pretend like she is dead, because it isn't going to happen.'

My words seemed to have been a kick to his gut that sucked all the life out of his lungs. After a few seconds of silence, he raised his head as he came up for air. "Thanks, buddy – I needed to hear that", was his beaten reply to me. After our conversation, he left and I do believe that although he didn't dress in black for a week – he did take my advice and move on. I am sure that both he and the female are grateful for that.

You see, I have never seen a woman (or a man) who is head over heels in interest for someone yet, just can't find time to be with that person. If the interest is there – the time will be there.

In life, you often hear the excuse. "I wish I could – spend more time with my family, start my own business, chase a goal, travel, or volunteer… but, I just don't have the time." You have the time… you are simply spending it somewhere else. You are a human and will make time for what you see as a priority. The question is – are you prioritizing the correct things.

You have the exact same amount of time in a day that Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Copernicus and da Vinci had. You have the exact same amount of time in a day that Michael Dell, Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey have. The question is not – Do you have the time? The question is – How are you spending the time that you do have?

Begin to keep a journal and log the time you spend everyday. Do this for at least two weeks. Track the time you spend getting ready for work, in your automobile, at the office, eating out, reading, in entertainment, watching television, surfing the internet or simply doing nothing. You may be surprised at the amount of time that you spend on unproductive matters. It is very often shocking at the time each day that we squander and will never get back.

Zig Ziglar penned a term called automobile university and it is the answer to everyone who says that they don't have time to learn a new skill, a foreign language or gain an education on the mysteries of the day. Ziglar suggest that if you simply listen to audio programs as you drive everyday you can successful use the time to gain a new skill or education. This is effective time management.

Life can often become so overwhelming that as we get caught up in the rat race – we are not aware of how we are spending our time. It may be time for a time inventory of your life. First begin by journaling what is most important to you in your life. Then track how your time for two weeks. It could be very eye opening.

Remember you have the same amount of time in a day that Einstein, Henry Ford and da Vinci had. The question is – are you using your time as effectively as they did. Therefore, you have no cause to complain for your lack of time, only your management of that time. Time plays no favorites – it will either be its slave or it will be yours. You make time every day for what you value. What do you value?

Birds are not meant to be caged......

Once again going through one of the old mails I got these conversations from the film Shawshank's redemption, one of my favourites.
The first one is the best and unforgettable one...So is the second, the third...

I have to remind myself that some birds weren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knew it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But your world is just that much colder and emptier when they're gone. I don't know... maybe I just miss my friend.

Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies.

Let me tell you something my friend. Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a man insane.

I have no idea to this day what those two Italian ladies were singing about. Truth is, I don't want to know. Some things are best left unsaid. I'd like to think they were singing about something so beautiful, it can't be expressed in words, and makes your heart ache because of it. I tell you, those voices soared higher and farther than anybody in a gray place dares to dream. It was like some beautiful bird flapped into our drab little cage and made those walls dissolve away, and for the briefest of moments, every last man in Shawshank felt free.

I believe in two things: discipline and the Bible. Here you'll receive both. Put your trust in the Lord; your ass belongs to me. Welcome to Shawshank.

The government reaches inside your shirt and squeezes until your tit turns purple.

I find I'm so excited, I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it the excitement only a free man can feel, a free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend, and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.
(Morgan freeman while delivering these words sounds fantastic...)

She was beautiful. God I loved her. I just didn't know how to show it, that's all. I killed her, Red. I didn't pull the trigger, but I pushed her away. And that's why she died, because of me.

Dear fellas, I can't believe how fast things move on the outside. I saw an automobile once when I was a kid but now they're everywhere. The world went and got itself in a big damn hurry. The parole board got me into this halfway house called "The Brewer". And a job bagging groceries at the Foodway. It's hard work and I try to keep up but my hands hurt most of the time. I don't think the store manager likes me very much. Sometimes after work I go to the park and feed the birds. I keep thinking Jake might just show up and say hello. But he never does. I hope wherever he is he's ok and makin' new friends. I have trouble sleepin' at night. I have bad dreams like I'm falling. I wake up scared. Sometimes it takes me a while to remember where I am. Maybe I should get me a gun, an, an rob the Foodway so they'd send me home. I could shoot the manager while I was at it, sort of like
a bonus. I guess I'm too old for that sort of nonsense anymore. I don't like it here. I'm tired of being afraid all the time. I've decided not to stay. I doubt they'll kick up any fuss. Not for an old crook like me. [carves "Brooks was here" into wood. Admires his work for a moment. Then kicks out the table beneath him and hangs himself] (This is what happens sometimes when you get used to a thing or a specific routine for a very very long time. Nice touchy scene...)

Selamat Detang Ke Singapura

Atlast got some push to write here after a long time. Instead this should have been the first thing to be done after returning from Singapore, my first trip abroad.
Singapore, for me definitely near to a dream city cum country because of it's cleanliness, discipline, modernization etc. The purpose of the trip was training on the tool but have utilized these 12 dyas for going around the entire Singapore. So Welcome to Singapore.

1. Raffles Place and some more near by places:
This is one of the most beautilful, romantic place I have ever been, both in Singapore and India. The Singapore river view from backside of the esplanado theatre, guys from a band singing there and the huge crowd all adds to the romantic atmosphere. Fantastic place to be with a GF.
One more thing that I liked here is the National library somewhere near raffles palce(don't know exactly where as I was just walking and walking and didn't know where I ended up:()
Then comes the Suntec City Mall. The thing that is worth seeing here is the Fountain of Wealth. It is the world's largest fountain. Though I did not have a chance to see the fountain in action due to annual maintainance but looking at its structure is really some thing worth visiting. I met one nice person here named Chris from Germany. Overall had a nice time with this gentleman.

2. Clarke Quay (pronounced as Clarke Kee), Fort Canning Park and Bugis.
This place again fantatsic and morover you won't feel lonely even if you are alone here;).
The babes in the Hooters, near Ministry of sounds, the bongy, the fort canning park near by, all adds to the beauty of this place. Here as well the river view adds up to the atmosphere. Though there's nothing much to see in Fort Canning Park but as and when you climb the fort (to say hill) alone at around 7:00 P.M. and that to alone you'll definitely get the feel of the place especially when you see something like this wierd around.
Bugis is also a nice place to be during the late evening timings. It has a market where you can buy some local stuffs like the way we have fashion street in Pune.

3. Sentosa Island:
This is the major tourist attraction that has many other sub-things to watch for inside it. Though my visit heer was completely ruined by the pouring rain still enjoyed the Dolphin show and the underwater world. But missed all the other fun here as told by my friend. Moreover could not even go to the southern most part of the world(or is it island??) But definitely worth a place going.

4. Pulau Ubin:
This is another island that ocmes under the malaysian territory. Here we got bicycle on rent and just wandered around looking all the possible spots in the small island. This island is said to be a snap shot of typical old era of Malaysia. The life style and all is of that old days. Here there is one resort or hotel where in you can stay. Nice place to be.

5. Night Safari:
This starts in the evening at @ 7:30. A very fantastic place to visit wherein you can see the wild life somewhat tamed and living in a natural habitat, the rain forest. The tram here makes a round around the entire forest and you can have a very closer look at the animal there. You can even see bats but beware of not touching them.

6. Jurong Bird Park and Kinetic garden:
If you like bird watching then do visit this marvellous bird park wherein you'll see as many as thousand's of bird species. You can enjoy the bird show where the parrot sings song in three different languages and yes one more thing, if it is your birthday then do visit this place. The parrot will sing "Happy Birthday" song;-)
There's one more thing here and that is the Jurong waterfall. This is the tallest artifical waterfall ever made(30 m tall). From here I had been to chinese garden, snow city and Kinetic Garden. This one place "Kinetic garden" is worth mentioning as it demonstrates some of the nice scientific applications, for e.g., the Archimedes screw the principle of which can be used to raise the water at lower level to a higher level.

I think I have covered almost all the places that I have visited. Arrrrrr onemore place my office. Hey you can also visit this place for interview in Honeywell, IBM and all.

Overall I had a very nice time here but most of the time somehow the economy there and all other stuffs like discipline, automation and all made me think that how is it possible in such a city. And I just could resist my self asking my friend and trainer as well there. So I got the same answer from both and that was. Everything (almost), even water, in Singapore is imported from Malaysia, Thailand and other countires. Also the man power there is very less. So the people there are aware of this set back and hence tend to be so much disciplined. They don't have any welfare organization running to collect any of the garbage there and many other things. So they themselve will never make any dirt in the city. The talk with my trainer onto this point was one of the memorable thing in this trip.

One more memorable event is that I made it, almost everywhere, to reach a museum when it is closed. So overall I had been at the doorstep of many museums but closed;).

A Nice Poem

Looking back into my old mails I found this one in my account that I forwarded before leaving MBT. I don't have any idea who is the creator but I liked it so thought of having it here and share it with you all.

=============================================
I want to step where you step dear,
And hold your hand to keep you near.
And see things through two pairs of eyes,
That become as one when by your side.

I want our hearts to beat as one,
And feel more life, more joy and fun.
I’ll finish sentences that you start,
As you also know what’s in my heart.

I want to blend my voice with yours,
Singing lovers songs in rhyme and verse.
And when we stop to join our lips,
This heavenly journey was worth the trip.

And when our bodies join as one,
The hope is that you will not run,
And tenderly pull me close to you,
And whisper dear I love you too!

Two hearts that now beat as one.
Two pairs of eyes see much more sun.
Two pairs of arms to hug and squeeze,
Two pairs of lips bring ecstasy.

As soul mates traveling through this life,
In a world that’s full of pain and strife,
The journey will much better be,
As long as you stay close to me.

Together we shall love and cry,
And see things through more tender eyes.
As passion burns and flames within,
Our souls have merged as love did win!

A Week-end To Remember

This was one of the best week-ends I've ever enjoyed here in Bangalore. It all started with the party from Gulshan in Chandni Chowk, Kormangala. We all have reached the venue in time. The speciality of this venue is that it is more like a dhaba. All the chairs and tables are rock-made, with bright red color hangings etc., and well illuminated. The moment we entered the hotel there were beauties inviting us, with the only exception of these being in the photo;-) :(. Rekha, Aish, Preity, Sush, etc.

Till today I have not seen such a hotel. It was unique in its appearance and menu card style as well. The food here was also very good. I liked mutter paneer very much, so did Karthick and Gullu.
The songs played added more to the fun. Since past few weeks we all were kinda frustrated or very angry with the voice of Himesh. It was just due to his monotous way of singing(the nose effect). And wherever we used to go the songs somehow never leaved us. So did this happen here as well. Atlast to make fun of it most of us started singing it and tried to mimic Himesh. The last song was Kajare and here we guys did all that should generally be not done in a hotel. We sung along with her, patted the table loudly.
Then as usual the photo session here also began. Since the time Sam has bought his camera we all as such don't need any occasion to shoot a few pics. And we have quite a few people who are interested in making their portfolios and hence there is always a demand for solo pic. Overall a very fantastic party. Thanks to Amit for this fantastic location for the party.
The beginning of the week-end was rocking. Then we all as usual headed towards the week-end adda(hindi tapori word) i.e. Banashankari and played carrom late night. Here is where the seeds of the second plan that were sown have beared buds. Karthick, the organizer of most of the trips, this time has chosen to explore north-west(correct me if I am wrong) of Bangalore and we have chosen Chikmanglur. Just to brief about Chikmanglur. It is more often known as the trekker's territory and the district takes the name from the headquarter town of Chikmanglur that literally means youngest daughter's town. We have selected the spot Kemmanagundi, located in the Baba-Budan range near @ 4702 ft above sea level. This is somewhat 50-55 kms from Chikmanglur. There are two water falls famous for picnic spots viz., Hebbe and Kalahasti. We've opted for Hebbe falls.
The journey began at 10:10 on the saturday night. We were a total of 9 people and have hired a 14 seater tempo traveller, just packed with hot chips, coke and RDB & Himesh hits CDs. The journey began with the songs of RDB rocking everyone of us. Everyone dancing in the cab until the driver shouted to stop dancing or else go out and dance and then will again start the journey. We opted the former advice of stop dancing. There's fun if we know some language that the others dont understand. Myself and Sam shared some comments at this event in Marathi. But later on we were bit of astonished to know that this guys understands Marathi. We have conversed something on increasing the volume of the songs in Marathi and this guy increased it without we telling him. I am still doubtful whether he undestands Marathi. The entire night was sleepless (exception Mukund, Sachin) for majority of us with songs being played loudly. There's one more exception to this but he challenges that he can't sleep if there's any kinda noise around.
At around 3:30 A.M. we've reached a village (I think the name is Bilur). We decided to take some rest as the way was very dusty and orphan. So we took rest near a hospital where we bought some cadbury's from the medical stores.
We left for the destination at 4:30 A.M. in the morning and reached at 5:30. There was a guest house of horticulture department, the booking office for which can be done in Lalbagh, Bangalore. All our efforts to book for a room so that we can finsih off our daily early morning routines were in vain. But somehow by cheating we managed to get fresh but the cheating cost us (rather, one of our frend) a couple of K bucks. Later then we (to be specific Sam, the photographer) took some pics on the guest house terrace, some near the temple and the small waterfall. Before heading towards the final destination of Hebbe falls we decided to see the Garden area where we've had our breakfast. This location was also awesome. The moment we got out of our cab here our photographer started taking pics of some of the beauties(i mean flowers) around and some solo as well. We were here for around 30-40 minutes.
We left to the main spot i.e. Hebbe falls. We took on the trekking somewhat 6-8 kms from the actual spot. The way to hebbe falls was full of dust(red soil) with both sides having quite dense forest and coffee plantation. All the way we were listening to the sweet background sound of the water but were unable to spot it. Most of the journey was in the dust later accompanied with some water stream giving an indication of we reaching near the spot. Atlast we reached there. What an awesome view that was!!! But this too accompanied with some bad news on the boys front;-) The moment we reached all others vacated the place. Though we got the entire space. We enjoyed a lot in water(though I could not get into the cold water) with some minor accidents. Finally leaving time arrived and we hired a jeep back to reach where we have parked our tempo.
Overall a very memorable trek. Thanks to all those who made it possible.
