Alter Ego

Everyone needs an alter ego, a friend, someone to talk to and share your feelings with. So is this, to some extent.

A Week-end To Remember

This was one of the best week-ends I've ever enjoyed here in Bangalore. It all started with the party from Gulshan in Chandni Chowk, Kormangala. We all have reached the venue in time. The speciality of this venue is that it is more like a dhaba. All the chairs and tables are rock-made, with bright red color hangings etc., and well illuminated. The moment we entered the hotel there were beauties inviting us, with the only exception of these being in the photo;-) :(. Rekha, Aish, Preity, Sush, etc.

Till today I have not seen such a hotel. It was unique in its appearance and menu card style as well. The food here was also very good. I liked mutter paneer very much, so did Karthick and Gullu.
The songs played added more to the fun. Since past few weeks we all were kinda frustrated or very angry with the voice of Himesh. It was just due to his monotous way of singing(the nose effect). And wherever we used to go the songs somehow never leaved us. So did this happen here as well. Atlast to make fun of it most of us started singing it and tried to mimic Himesh. The last song was Kajare and here we guys did all that should generally be not done in a hotel. We sung along with her, patted the table loudly.
Then as usual the photo session here also began. Since the time Sam has bought his camera we all as such don't need any occasion to shoot a few pics. And we have quite a few people who are interested in making their portfolios and hence there is always a demand for solo pic. Overall a very fantastic party. Thanks to Amit for this fantastic location for the party.
The beginning of the week-end was rocking. Then we all as usual headed towards the week-end adda(hindi tapori word) i.e. Banashankari and played carrom late night. Here is where the seeds of the second plan that were sown have beared buds. Karthick, the organizer of most of the trips, this time has chosen to explore north-west(correct me if I am wrong) of Bangalore and we have chosen Chikmanglur. Just to brief about Chikmanglur. It is more often known as the trekker's territory and the district takes the name from the headquarter town of Chikmanglur that literally means youngest daughter's town. We have selected the spot Kemmanagundi, located in the Baba-Budan range near @ 4702 ft above sea level. This is somewhat 50-55 kms from Chikmanglur. There are two water falls famous for picnic spots viz., Hebbe and Kalahasti. We've opted for Hebbe falls.
The journey began at 10:10 on the saturday night. We were a total of 9 people and have hired a 14 seater tempo traveller, just packed with hot chips, coke and RDB & Himesh hits CDs. The journey began with the songs of RDB rocking everyone of us. Everyone dancing in the cab until the driver shouted to stop dancing or else go out and dance and then will again start the journey. We opted the former advice of stop dancing. There's fun if we know some language that the others dont understand. Myself and Sam shared some comments at this event in Marathi. But later on we were bit of astonished to know that this guys understands Marathi. We have conversed something on increasing the volume of the songs in Marathi and this guy increased it without we telling him. I am still doubtful whether he undestands Marathi. The entire night was sleepless (exception Mukund, Sachin) for majority of us with songs being played loudly. There's one more exception to this but he challenges that he can't sleep if there's any kinda noise around.
At around 3:30 A.M. we've reached a village (I think the name is Bilur). We decided to take some rest as the way was very dusty and orphan. So we took rest near a hospital where we bought some cadbury's from the medical stores.
We left for the destination at 4:30 A.M. in the morning and reached at 5:30. There was a guest house of horticulture department, the booking office for which can be done in Lalbagh, Bangalore. All our efforts to book for a room so that we can finsih off our daily early morning routines were in vain. But somehow by cheating we managed to get fresh but the cheating cost us (rather, one of our frend) a couple of K bucks. Later then we (to be specific Sam, the photographer) took some pics on the guest house terrace, some near the temple and the small waterfall. Before heading towards the final destination of Hebbe falls we decided to see the Garden area where we've had our breakfast. This location was also awesome. The moment we got out of our cab here our photographer started taking pics of some of the beauties(i mean flowers) around and some solo as well. We were here for around 30-40 minutes.
We left to the main spot i.e. Hebbe falls. We took on the trekking somewhat 6-8 kms from the actual spot. The way to hebbe falls was full of dust(red soil) with both sides having quite dense forest and coffee plantation. All the way we were listening to the sweet background sound of the water but were unable to spot it. Most of the journey was in the dust later accompanied with some water stream giving an indication of we reaching near the spot. Atlast we reached there. What an awesome view that was!!! But this too accompanied with some bad news on the boys front;-) The moment we reached all others vacated the place. Though we got the entire space. We enjoyed a lot in water(though I could not get into the cold water) with some minor accidents. Finally leaving time arrived and we hired a jeep back to reach where we have parked our tempo.
Overall a very memorable trek. Thanks to all those who made it possible.
